When I came to this country in 1988, nobody seemed to notice me.
All I got was indifference. I did not know English. It was hard for me
to communicate with my teachers. Voices in Harmony helped me develop confidence
in myself and taught me how to be more open-minded, meaning that I shouldnt
be afraid to express my thoughts or feelings anymore.
(My daughter) enjoyed it and took it so seriously that it taught
her the ability to organize her life and be disciplined. Voices in Harmony
has also helped her to relate to and understand different ways of life.
Growing up in a single parent household, it has been valuable for her
to learn about family situations and social backgrounds that differ from
and I saw that my writings good. My writing is good.
And it gave me confidence. It made me think, if I can do this, I can do
Hes doing what I want to do. Hes a true mentor.
