Listen - More About the Film

“Listen” is a one-hour video intended for the 6-12th grade audience. The film is an honest look at inner city youth and their struggle to avoid drugs and alcohol. It includes documentary interviews as well as three short films written and performed by Los Angeles teenagers and their mentors.

The film focuses on the stories of the teens themselves, on the negative effects that drugs have had in their lives and on the positive influence of their mentors.

“Listen” does not take an authoritarian position to preach “don’t do drugs”. Instead, it gives its teenaged audience the opportunity to draw their own conclusions after hearing their peers share first hand experiences of the consequences that drug abuse has had on their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
